LINKS TO RESOURCES FOR PARENTS AND FAMILIES
Holy Families: Discipleship Resources for the Home
Holy Families! is an initiative of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) and Sola Publishing, provided through a generous grant from the Thrivent Foundation, in honor of the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation (1517-2017).
The Holy Family Time daily devotional is written by: Mrs. Kelly Hanson (Ladysmith, WI) and Rev. Steven E. King (Oakdale, MN).
From their website:
At Slugs & Bugs, we make music the whole family will love.
But that’s not our only goal.
We believe songs are one of God’s powerful tools for building strong relationships. When songs inspire laughter or deep spiritual thought, they can transform a routine car ride into a sweet family experience. Over time, that influence can profoundly impact the culture of the home.
Slugs & Bugs aims to write those songs. We want families to sing together, laugh together, and think deeply together about the meaning of life and the nature of God. We believe those shared experiences will translate into stronger relationships in the family and a deeper understanding of their relationship with Jesus.
That’s where we’re aiming, but making music the whole family can agree on is a great place to start!
THE LIFE-GIVING PARENT
GIVING YOUR CHILD A LIFE WORTH LIVING FOR CHRIST
“How do we seek parenting advice that is timeless and life-giving, not trendy and guilt-inducing?” – JULIE SILANDER
Statement from the Introduction:
“At the core, lifegiving parenting is less about what you do and more about who you are—a child of the living God who is connected with Him and is ready to share that life with your children so that they may know Him too.”
Taken from a review of the book, https://rabbitroom.com/2018/08/the-lifegiving-parent-a-review/
“Each chapter focuses on a different aspect of parenting, including Numbering Your Child’s Days, Nurturing Your Child’s Spirit, Guarding Your Child’s Heart, Renewing Your Child’s Mind, Strengthening Your Child’s Faith, Shaping Your Child’s Will, Cultivating Your Child’s Character, and Forming Your Child’s Imagination. Clay explores the theological basis and practical application for each topic, then Sally shares a personal reflection of how that particular element played out in their family.”
The book can be purchased via the link below. Stay tuned for a potential 10-week study.
RESOURCES FOR PARENTS AND YOUTH LEADERS
“Our mission is to empower the next generation to think clearly and critically about what they believe and to take ownership of their faith. We do this not by outsourcing parents, but by resourcing them to disciple and transfer legacy to their children as they face life’s questions and challenges. We also support faith leaders in churches and schools by providing content and facilitators who effectively introduce and address life’s toughest topics.”

EVERY MOMENT HOLY
NEW LITURGIES FOR DAILY LIFE
EVERY MOMENT HOLY is a book of liturgies for the ordinary events of daily life–liturgies such as “A Liturgy for Feasting with Friends” or “A Liturgy for Laundering” or “A Liturgy for the First Hearthfire of the Season.” These are ways of reminding us that our lives are shot through with sacred purpose even when, especially when, we are too busy or too caught up in our busyness to notice.
An example for an important daily event in our home: A Liturgy for the Ritual of Morning Coffee
