Worship At SAELC

EVERYONE IS WELCOME AT WORSHIP

Many enthusiastic volunteers work with the pastor each week to make our worship special.  The altar guild prepares all the elements for communion and decorates the sanctuary with banners according to the church seasons. Each music group plans the music for their Sunday service.  Communion assistants, readers, ushers, and greeters are assigned by the church office from the Time and Talents list.

Holy Communion is celebrated the first and third Sunday of each month.  All those who are baptized in the name of the Triune God and believe in the real presence of Jesus Christ in that as we receive the bread and wine we also receive Jesus ‘ body are welcome at the Lord’s table.  As one child responded when asked about what she received with the bread and wine, we say with her, “I get Jesus.”

Luther on The Lord’s Supper,
“I certainly love it with all my heart, the precious, blessed Supper of my Lord Jesus Christ, in which he gives me His body and blood to eat and to drink orally, with the mouth of my body, accompanied by the exceedingly sweet and gracious words: Given for you, shed for you.” (Matt 26:26; Mk 14:23; Lk 22:19 W 38, 267)

Our Service of Celebration begins at 10:00 am.  It includes brief order of confession, readings, message and communion.  Music varies in format with a mixture of traditional and contemporary music and participation by different Worship Singing Teams or Choir.

There is a play room available for those with small children who become restless during the service. There is also a cry room with a little more privacy for those new nursing moms and babies. Both rooms have a window and are equipped with speakers so you are still able to hear the service.

There are wireless hearing aids with volume controls available for those who need them. They enable members and visitors to become involved and fully appreciate our worship services.
