Rev. Phillip Gagnon is married to his wonderful, beautiful, patient and mostly always right wife, Patricia and has been since 1985. Together they have three great children, Elise, Elias and Sophie, though not children anymore. Pastor Phil attended The King’s College, Edmonton before going to the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon in 1993-1997.

From seminary he was called to serve Golden Vally Lutheran Church in Viking and was there for five years. St. Albert Evangelical Lutheran Church called him in 2002 and has served this congregation since then. He has been the Director of Christian Challenge Ministries (a counter-cult organization), chair of the Confessional Ministerium and also served as the Dean for the Canada Mission District of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) between 2013 and 2017.

He is passionate about serving and reaching those in need whether it be at home in Canada or abroad. To this end St. Albert Evangelical has been undertaking mission trips to Mexico since 2002 with other congregations and began their own outreach to the homeless and sex workers since 2003 (Hosea Ministries).
